Food Bank And Meal Program

The Lillooet Food Bank has been running out of the Friendship Centre since the year 2000. In 2001 we became members of Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB) which allowed us to be part of the BC-CAFB branch that made us part the National Food Sharing System (NFSS). On average we travel to the lower mainland 2-4 times per year and pick up our share of the food donated through the NFSS program. The amount for this year is 1702 total adults and children provided assistance through the food bank.

We host an Elder’s luncheon on the 2nd Friday of each month. The luncheons are free for elders and a $2.00 donation from anyone else. We served 765 meals through the Elder’s Luncheon program this year.

We also run a weekly Soup program each Wednesday with a total of 1709 people served through-out the year.
